Beautiful beach with no people on Palm Island

 About  Us

We've been coming to the island for nearly 20 years. We love it here. In fact, we call this island home. The island is the perfect place for couples, families, friends and relaxing with your toes in the sand. It's very casual, pet friendly and is 100% Old Florida at its best. It's one of the last places in Florida that retains the charm of an old fishing village and has managed to resist the trend to build high-rise hotels, beach bars and condos. Here, you'll discover what island living is all about. Long walks down the beach with hardly a person in sight, beautiful sunsets and tropical breezes. This is a place to reconnect and recharge. Welcome to Don Pedro & Palm Island.

Meet the owners

We chose Don Pedro Island, which is also known as Palm Island, for many reasons. While most of coastal Florida has been over-developed, this chain of Gulf coast barrier islands, just south of Venice, have remained largely the same over the last 30 years. Those islands include Boca Grande, Cayo Costa, Little Gasparilla, Don Pedro and Palm Island. Cayo Costa and Little Gasparilla can only be reached by boat. Don Pedro and Palm Island can be accessed by boat or Palm Island Transit, which is the car ferry service that serves our island. The short trip, about three minutes once you're on the ferry, will transform you from a "mainlander" to "islander" and you'll immediately be ready to begin your island vacation. We've included a bunch of photos of the island, our homes and some of the great places to visit if you choose to venture off island.
